What is the HYDROZON® Gas Generator?

    Up

A  HYDROZON® gas generator is simply an energy converter. Electricity plus pure water are transformed into gas, which can then be burned and turned into thermal energy.

HYDROZON® is a registered trademark for a small kit gas generator used for braising and welding. This generator uses hydrogen and oxygen gas produced on-demand in an electrolysis process in the generator cell.

The idea behind these small kits is to produce the exact quantity of gas needed on-site and on-demand.  This eliminates the need for storage and increases overall safety.

The flame temperature can reach up to 3773K (3500°C) depending on the type of  HYDROZON®, the nozzle used and what, if any, additives are used.

This invention was introduced by  HYDROZON® Systems in 1963.  All information, including the necessary safety precautions are summarized in DIN 32508, supervised by the controlling authority, BAM (Bundesanstalt für Materialprüfung) in Berlin.

The eight standard types of HYDROZON® are classified according to the quantity of gas they are capable of producing. Minimum production is 1.11*10-5 m3/s (40l/h) with a maximum of 1.39*10-4 m3/s (500l/h). The machine that best suits your needs will depend of the types of applications you will be performing.
